Matcha green tea is a type of green tea made from young leaves that are then ground into a light green powder. It is grown in the shade, which increases its nutrient content, and the stems and veins are removed before the leaves are ground. Buddhist monks have long drank matcha green tea after long meditation sessions to improve concentration and purify the mind. It contains real green tea leaves, not just extracts as is the case with other forms of tea. For this reason, matcha is the most powerful form of green tea, and due to the lack of leaf veins and stems, it is also of the highest quality.
